Every year the newspapers are quick to praise the schools who are securing those National 5, National 6 and Advanced Highers. Ranking them against the other schools within the council regions and as a whole, throughout Scotland. Showing that very affluent areas continually outranking those in lower socio economic areas.
Is it a true reflection of the growth of each school?
Is it a true reflection of the success of getting wee Johnny into school for 3 days out of 5 and then supporting him in getting an apprenticeship, all while he is dealing with being homeless, sofa surfing with his mum and wee sister and having been a non attender for the previous year?
